Autumn Butterfly Easel Card

Sometimes I think it’s fun to revisit an old card design and give it an update for the new season.  The butterfly population in my yard seems to have exploded lately, so it only seemed fitting that I create an autumn-inspired card with some of the new Stamps (and dies) by Chloe available now in the Crafter’s Companion store.  This easel card is very similar to the more summery one I made with the “Butterfly Circle” stamps and dies back in June, so if you need additional details on assembly, you can find them here.

To give the original card an early autumn makeover, I stamped and die-cut the butterfly circle out of kraft cardstock and inked the edges with brown ink before layering it over some orange cardstock that both acted as a mat layer and a backdrop for the raised wings.

A sentiment was added to the center of the card front using an adhesive foil transfer and orange foil from my stash.  To hold the easel up when open, I placed a couple of the Allium Flowers (embossed in white and then inked with brown and orange ink) on foam squares in the lower left corner.

I hope you enjoyed this quick autumn update to an old card design and thanks so much for stopping by today.  If you missed the Stamps by Chloe release on HSN back in July, be sure to check out the beautiful collection now!
