Bold Valentine with Stackable Dies

I do so love black cardstock.  The slap-in-the-face, stark contrast it lends to projects is something I really enjoy…and it’s even more striking paired with white and red.  This bold valentine uses the Celebration Stackable Dies that will be featured in a special clearance event on HSN today at 4pm ET.

I used the “Wedding Bells” die set to add these intricate bells to the edge of a 5.5″ x 1.75″ panel of heavyweight black cardstock…first cutting, then embossing, and finally inking the open areas of the die with white pigment ink.  In the corners, I added coordinating heart designs using the other tiny dies that come in the set.

I don’t often pay as much attention to the inside of my cards, but black cardbases require a insert (unless you have a great light gel pen!) and the corner dies are perfect for bringing the card design to the interior.

A distressed sentiment was stamped and heat-embossed in white before popping the panel up on top of patterned paper from the Sara Signature Love & Romance 6×6 pad.  For a little embellishment, I added the tiny black hearts that were scraps from the die-cut corners.

I hope you enjoyed this bold Valentine’s Day card and thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have you been crafting for the upcoming holiday?
