Bottlebrush Tree Shaker Card

Bottlebrush Tree Shaker Card by Annie Williams - Main

It’s the middle of November and this is the first Christmas card I’ve made this year.  Normally, I would be finishing up my 20th card or so by this time (I only make about 25 total)…but I have no idea where the time has gone!  Oh, I’ve bought plenty of new Christmas stamps (there were so many good ones this year!)…but many of them have been sitting around and staring at me since September.  So, I’ve made it my goal to use at least one new set from each of my favorite collections this year between now and Christmas.  I started with Power Poppy today because the images in her Happiest Holiday Collection are the most beautiful, detailed, and unique that I’ve seen this year…definitely a collection I’ll be using for years to come.

The main image is from the Bottlebrush Holiday set and was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Copic Express-It Blending Card, then colored with Copic markers.  There are several tiny sentiments that you can stamp in the ribbon, and I chose “Be Merry” because I liked how it wrapped around the tree.  Although you can’t see it in the photo, I also added a little clear Wink of Stella to the ribbon so that it would appear silver and not gray.

I colored the background blue and cut the image out with a stitched rectangle die from Lil’ Inker Designs to add the decorative edge.  Then I created a pocket using foam tape and added my sequins (Pretty Pink Posh – 4mm and 6mm Marshmallow and 6mm Sparkling Clear).

Since I was short on time, I just added a quick knot of Red Chevron Twill ribbon from Pretty Pink Posh to my white woodgrain card front and called it a day.  LOVE this ribbon and wish I had more…you’ll probably see me use it at  least one more time this year because it’s so perfect for Christmas cards!

I’ll be back on Friday with a new freebie, but for now, I’d love to hear what you think!  Are you finished your Christmas cards yet??
