Donut Shaker Card

Just dropping by quickly today to share this fun donut shaker card I made with the new mini dies from Crafter’s Companion that debuted on HSN a few weeks ago.  If you didn’t get a chance to pick them up, they are still available at HSN.com (here and here).  There are so many cute everyday images in these sets and I thought they were the perfect size to use even as shaker elements.

Somehow I had the perfect cardstock and ribbon to match this patterned paper from the Sara Signature Birthday Party Collection (that never happens!), so the card came together very quickly.  A simple die-cut window frame (“Beautiful Baby” die – Sara Signature Little Angel Collection) and acetate was all I needed to keep those little donuts wrangled where I can’t get to them.

As small as they are, the mini dies are still intricate enough to contain embossing/stenciling areas.  So, I could ink the sprinkles on the donut glaze die-cuts to match the patterned paper.  With a little cup of steaming coffee and a happy hello greeting, I called this card complete.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I’d love to hear your comments!  Be sure to swing by later this week…it just might be a Freebie Friday… 😉
