Easy Christmas Gift Box

When I’m giving small gifts, I almost always have to put it inside of pretty packaging.  That extra touch always seems to make an impression…and when it’s easy to create too, that just makes it even better!  This project uses one of the new Christmas Create-A-Card dies (“Timeless Wreath”) from Crafter’s Companion that premiered on HSN a little over a week ago.

After trimming a piece of Candy Red Shimmering Cardstock to 8″ x 8″, I simply centered the die on the cardstock and ran it through my Gemini machine.  Once cut, I applied a light coat of white pigment ink through the die to accentuate the wreath and allowed it to dry.  The greeting, from the “A Christmas Gift” stamp set, was stamped in Versamark ink onto a piece of 5″ x 5″ heavyweight vellum and embossed with white embossing powder.

I adhered the vellum behind the intricate wreath design and scored and folded the cardstock using my Ultimate Tool to form the box lid.  For the box base, I used White Pearl Shimmering Cardstock with my Ultimate Tool.  To make the box a little bit easier to open, I created finger slots on the lid with a 1″ circle punch.

I hope I’ve inspired you to dress up even the smallest of packages this season (no one has to know how easy it is) and thanks so much for stopping by today!
