Easy K-Cup Christmas Gift Boxes

Around the holidays, I try to make everyone in my life feel appreciated…even if it’s with just a tiny gift.  These easy gift boxes hold two K-cups each, require only a few simple tools to construct, and make the perfect small gift for neighbors and co-workers.  (If you’re a Silhouette user, you might be interested in the other three K-Cup® gift boxes I’ve posted in the past here, here, and here.)

Start with a full sheet of Wild Cherry Pop Tones Cardstock.  Holding it in portrait orientation, score the cardstock at 1.5″ and 7″ (indicated by arrows on the left in the photograph above).  Then turn the cardstock ninety degrees and score it at 0.5″, 3″, 4.5″, and 7″ (indicated by arrows on top in the photograph above).

Trim out tiny triangles from the areas surrounding the score lines indicated above to form tabs.  Then, following the score lines, trim off the rectangular areas in the upper- and lower-right sides of the cardstock as shown above.  Finally, punch or die-cut two 1.75″ circles in the second rectangular area of the middle row.

Crease the score lines well, folding the tabs inward as shown.  To create the final 3D box, add Tombow Mono Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the side tabs and long, skinny center tab and press to hold.

To decorate the box, die-cut a sentiment (“Merry Christmas Dies” – Pink & Main) and shadow layer from Sour Apple and Wild Cherry Pop Tones Cardstock and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.  Side panels can be made by trimming Sour Apple cardstock to 2.375″ x 5.375″, 1.375″ x 5.375″, and 1.375″ x 2.375″ (x2) and patterned paper (Doodlebug) to 2.25″ x 5.25″, 1.25″ x 5.25″, and 2.25″ x 1.25″ (x2).

Stamp holiday or coffee-themed images (“Cocoa Cafe” – Pink & Main) onto Neenah Solar White Classic Crest cardstock with alcohol-friendly ink and color them with Copic markers.  Copic markers R24, R27, R29, and R59 coordinate well with the Wild Cherry cardstock, while YG21, YG23, YG25, and YG63 coordinate well with the Sour Apple cardstock.

Decorate the gift boxes as shown, using tape runner to adhere the layered side panels and foam tabs to pop both the image and sentiment up for added dimension.

This variation uses the same color combination, but Neenah Classic Crest Solar White for the mat layers and Wild Cherry Pop Tones cardstock for the sentiment.  (I’ve also reversed the coloring in my image.)

I hope you enjoyed this small holiday gift idea and thanks so much for stopping by today.  Are handmade gifts on your to-do list this year?

You’re so welcome Helen! I had intended to create a freebie cut file for this project too, but time always slips away from me this time of year…maybe soon though!
