Embossed Stencil Get Well Card

Since I got so far behind in OnlineCardClasses.com’s Stenciled class, I decided to start on my card for Day 4 (today) first, and then work my way backwards this week as time allows.  I really liked Julie’s use of a stencil to emboss and then ink her background, so I used a stencil I had purchased a long time ago for painting flower pots (“Ditsy Floral” from Plaid) to create this background:
You really can’t see the embossing much in my picture, but in real life it’s subtle and pretty.  The background was sponged on using Memento Luxe inks.  I stamped the skunk (“Stinkin Cute” from SSS) in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him using Copics, then popped him up on top of a doily I embossed in pearl white on some thick vellum (because I didn’t want to cover up my background!).
I used the “Stitched Sentiment Flag Die” from Lil’ Inker Designs to create the banners for my sentiment.  These were embossed in white using stamps from the “Stinkin Cute” set from SSS and the “Speedy Recovery” set from Hero Arts.  I finished my card off with a tiny bow of yellow jute from American Crafts.
Thanks for stopping by and I’d love to hear your comments!
