Entwined Heart Cards

There might be a half of a foot of snow on the ground, but I’m going to keep posting springtime cards until it comes true!  If you caught any of the 24-hour craft event on HSN last week, you may have seen the new “Entwined Collection” from Leonie Pujol and Crafter’s Companion (still available here).  Although I thought at first the collection might be a little funky for my usual style, I love all things viny and actually had lots of fun coloring and draping this little intricate die-cuts.

All of the floral vines and the sentiment were cut from Crafter’s Companion Watercolor Cardstock so that I could shade them with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens (Starry Sky, Olive Jade, Pink Garnet, and Clear).

After stamping a frame on white cardstock using the “Pretty Borders” stamps, I popped the kraft “Funky Heart Base” up on top with foam dots.  Then, I just wrapped the colored vines around the heart until I was satisfied with the coverage and added a little Multi Matte Medium in spots to secure them down well.

For a little bit of a different look, I used the negative cut from the “Interlocking Love” die to form the background on this uber simple card.  Then, I pressed the “Funky Heart Base” into the little tentacles…I kinda liked the idea of my card gripping the heart!

To keep the focus on my heart prisoner, I just added a handful of clear sparkling sequins and a simple die-cut sentiment (included in the “Funky Heart Base” set) before adhering it all to a black cardbase.

I’m loving all of the innovative dies that different companies seem to be releasing lately…and it’s so hard when you want to try them all!  But I’d love to see more interlocking designs like this one.  What kinds of dies are you’re wishing someone would release?
