Welcome to my stop on the Ladies’ Night Blog Hop sponsored by CutCardStock and Great Impressions!  I hope you are enjoying the hop so far…you should have arrived here from Mynn’s blog, but if you’d like to start back at the beginning, please click here.

I don’t usually make what I’d call super-feminine cards, so I had a lot of fun stepping out of my comfort zone to craft with the “Ladies’ Night” theme in mind.  And since I can never seem to find enough time to spend with my girlfriends, I thought a “missing you” type of card was the perfect fit.

Ladies Night Out Blog Hop Card by Annie Williams - Main

To start, I stamped the “Pansy Bough” image onto some watercolor paper in Versamark ink, added white embossing powder, and melted it with my heat tool.  Then I colored the image with Spectrum Aqua markers and a waterbrush and fussy-cut them out.

The sentiment was stamped onto Virtual Pearl Curious Metallic Cardstock in Sweet Plum Memento Luxe ink followed by clear embossing.  Virtual Pearl cardstock has a beautiful shimmer to it and seems to change color in different light…an almost holographic look that went perfectly with the pinks and purples I had chosen for the rest of my card.  Once set, I cut the sentiment out using one of the Floral Ovals Dies from Spellbinders.

A gentle damask pattern was embossed into Virtual Pearl cardstock to create the background, followed by matting with a piece of Amethyst Stardream Metallic Cardstock to add even more shimmer.  To finish off the card, I added a strip of white satin ribbon and popped all of my elements up on top using foam tabs.

I hope you enjoyed this card project and thank you so much for stopping by today!  Your next stop is Leah’s blog, but if you get lost you can always come on back and use the links below.  Be sure to leave a comment on every stop along the way for a chance to win a prize pack from Great Impressions and a gift certificate to CutCardStock!
