Magnolia Card

Magnolia Card by Annie Williams - Main

In honor of 24-hour craft day on HSN (one of my favorite holidays 🙂 ), I wanted to share another card I made using the new AquaBlend Pencils from Crafter’s Companion.  You can tune in to the shows at 2am EST and 5pm EST today if you’re interested in a live demonstration of them, or just trust me that they work beautifully!  (They’re winning over popular Youtubers as well!)

I started by stamping images from the “Magnolia Blossom” set onto some Crafter’s Companion Watercolor Cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink.   After adding some very quick layers of color with the pencils, I blended out the pigment with a damp waterbrush.  In areas that seemed to need a little more contrast once dry, I added back a bit more concentrated pigment by taking color directly from the tip of the pencil with my brush.

I added a magenta mat to bring out the pink in my flowers, and then adhered all of this to a piece of black cardstock that I had cut with the “Renaissance Edge’able” die.  A few clear sequins and a lime green jute bow finished off this bright and Spring’y card.

All of the items featured in this card will be presented during the 24-hour event on HSN, so be sure to tune in if you’re interested.  Thanks so much for stopping by today and I would love to hear your comments!
