Plaid Stamping

I really wanted to make a shaker card today but I was short on time, so I chose my second favorite technique from the bunch – plaid stamping.  I knew this would look great using the border stamp from “Cupcake Party” by Simon Says Stamp because I saw the video where Kristina used it on her blog a while ago and have wanted to try it ever since.  Other than the plaid, I didn’t really have a vision for this card up front…but when I saw how it looked in these colors, I couldn’t get the idea of camping out of my head.  So I grabbed some woodland creature stamps and tried to work with sketch #2:
I didn’t put three banners on my card, but I did make sure I got “brads” on there by giving each little guy an enamel dot for a nose.  If I had to do it again, I would probably stamp the animals using Memento instead of shadow ink because they came out ever so slightly blotchy…but I was trying to match my plaid pattern.  Speaking of, here is a detail shot…that stamp is the best for plaid!
I finished it off with a fitting sentiment from Hero Arts embossed in white on some aqua cardstock and some chocolate brown jute to go with the natural theme.  I’d love to hear your comments and thanks for stopping by!
