Quick & Simple Watercolor Card

Just a quick post to share a simple card today…sometimes I just need to do something quick and easy to cleanse my system of a complicated project (that I’ll hopefully get to complete and post soon).  I needed a thank you card for a truly generous someone, so I pulled out my “Simply Sketched” stamp set from Stampin’ Up and some Distress Inks:
Yeah, I know that’s a lot of white space…especially for me…but I just didn’t feel like cluttering it up with patterned paper or a billion layers.  So I colored my image in with Worn Lipstick, Barn Door, and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks (using an acrylic block as a palette and a Faber-Castell Deluxe Water Brush) and added one little flower-shaped sequin with a tiny pearl center.

I bought that water brush to use with my gelatos…but I must need a lot more practice using them because I’m just not loving what I’m making with them yet.  In the meantime, it works great for watercoloring with my dye inks.  The watercolor paper is matted on some Old Olive cardstock from SU and then adhered to a Neenah Desert Storm 100# card base.
Thanks for stopping by!
