Simple Holiday Card with Plaid Stamping

Here’s another quick post today to share a couple of cards I made using the plaid stamping technique from Day 3 of OnlineCardClasses’ Holiday Card Workshop combined with the inlay technique from Day 1.

The plaid pattern was stamped on a scrap of cardstock using a stamp from the “Cupcake Party” set from Simon Says Stamp and Pacific Point (SU), Soft Sky (SU), Soft Granite (HA), and Charcoal (HA) inks.  I then cut the sentiment from this scrap and some Pacific Point cardstock using my Cameo.

I only wanted to inlay the die cut partially, so that allowed me to make two cards from all that stamping.  Actually, I started to make a third card by inlaying the plaid sentiment into the blue cardstock, but I messed it all up with some silver snowflake stamping that didn’t quite work out.  It’s a shame, because it looked pretty nice before I decided to mess with it…lesson learned!

I coated the sentiment with clear Wink of Stella glitter to finish both of my cards off…and then left them alone no matter how much I was tempted to add something more.
Thanks for stopping by and I’d love to hear your comments!

  1. You know, I have that same stamp set and was wondering if it would work for the plaid! Now you’re inspired me to try it! Your cards look great — love the blue!

That’s so clever to use the 2 halves on either side of the words! Great work!

  3. Beautiful card. Love your plaid
