Spectrum Noir Colorista Blog Hop – UK Edition!

Colorista Autumn Tray by Annie Williams - Main

Today I’m sharing just one more project I created with a completed coloring page from the “Eastern Promise” Spectrum Noir Colorista Premium Marker Pad.  This post is part of a blog hop in honor of the UK launch of the Spectrum Noir Colorista line on September 9th on Hochanda, so if you’ve arrived here from anywhere else but the Spectrum Noir blog, you can click here to start back at the beginning!

Colorista Autumn Tray by Annie Williams - Coloring Detail

For this design, I chose to just do some straight coloring…no fancy blending and shading, just good old pretty autumn colors!  I was surprised at how quickly the coloring went (and how enjoyable it was) when I wasn’t worried about blending families and light sources.  Using the Lipstick, Burgundy, Umber, Nectarine, Pear Green, Maple, and Gold colorista pens, I filled the entire page with bright color in no time.

Colorista Autumn Tray by Annie Williams - Detail

The unfinished tray was purchased at a local craft store and I painted it a matching brown color using acrylic craft paint.  Once dry, I adhered and sealed the coloring page to the bottom of the tray using a couple of thin coats of Mod Podge Matte.   This sealant is water-based, so the marker pad and pen inks won’t run when it’s applied.

At 8″ x 12″, the tray is perfect for serving a few autumn beverages on (hot apple cider, anyone?) or setting out on my entryway table to decorate for the season.

I hope you enjoyed this project using some of the new Colorista products and thanks so much for stopping by today!  For even more inspiration and a chance to win a Colorista prize pack, here is the full line-up (your next stop is Jo’s blog!):

Hi Annie. Love your idea of using the coloured page in a different way. The Autumnal colours are stunning, I was hoping that I’d be able to get away without buying the new pens and just use the regular SN pens but I can see that I really need the new ones too!
P.S. when’s the hot apple cider being served, not something we find much in the UK but got a taste for it on a visit to the US. Sue.
