Spellbinders July 2021 Club Kits

Happy first day of July friends!  It’s reveal day for the July Club Kits from Spellbinders and I think you are going to love the beautiful and versatile designs this month.  Today I’m sharing three pretty floral cards made with the Large Die of the MonthSmall Die of the Month, and Clear Stamp of the Month Kits because they all coordinate so beautifully again.

LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH KIT

This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Mini Slimline Envelope & Nested Card Creator“, is a truly massive set of 16 dies that can be used to cut multiple sizes and types of layers for mini slimline cards in addition to creating an envelope with a little extra space that can handle layered or embellished mini slimline cards.  I went a little overboard and used all of the layers in the set to create a fun floral birthday card as well as a matching envelope.

Here is a peek at all of the dies you will receive this month…it’s such a big set I couldn’t even fit it all on one of my homemade 6.5″ x 9″ magnet storage cards!  There are endless possibilities with all of the different layer styles, so this is definitely a set I can see myself pulling out time and time again.

I started by applying Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink to the bottom half of a panel of white cardstock using a blending brush.  Then I cut that panel with all of the dot-dash-dot-patterned layer dies, nested within each other to minimize some of the thickness and weight of the card.  After cutting Mirror Gold Cardstock with all of the scalloped layer dies, I could easily stack the layers in decreasing size and cover up any “holes” on the ink-blended panels.

The kit includes a die to cut a sentiment, but I chose to add a foiled one instead using the Slimline Confetti Background Glimmer Plate Set and Gold Hot Foil, which fits perfectly within the outer border die included in the kit.  Once the card front was mounted onto a white card base measuring 3.5″ x 6″, I embellished it with flowers and leaves cut from Cosmic Sky, Glacier, and Rainforest Cardstock using the pretty layered flower dies included.

The envelope is super easy to make…just cut one of the rectangles and two of each envelope flap out of some coordinating paper or cardstock (here I’m using Cosmic Sky Cardstock), score the folds, adhere the flaps onto the base, and fold over and affix.

SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH KIT

For even more fun mini slimline card options, this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit creates a beautiful ornate card front that needs little embellishment to wow your recipient and works for a variety of occasions.  I used mine with a few die-cut flowers and a sentiment from the Clear Stamp of the Month Kit to send a friendly hello.

Decorative Mini Slimline Card Creator” contains five nested dies that can be used in various combinations with each other to cut all sorts of different layer styles.  Here I’ve cut Cosmic Sky Cardstock using just the outer layer, Glacier Cardstock using the two outermost layers, and Mirror Silver Cardstock to cut the three outermost layers.  When adhered together with liquid glue, this combination yields the colorblocking effect shown in my card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Clear Stamp of the Month Kit onto white cardstock using Versafine Clair Blue Belle Ink before cutting it out using the second-smallest die in the set (the smallest die is a sentiment, so the kit includes everything you need to cut an entire card front!).  After adhering the layered decorative card front onto a side-folding white card base measuring 3.5″ x 6″ with tape runner, I popped the sentiment panel up in the center with foam adhesive.

To embellish, I added some floral sprays cut from Beeswax, Saffron, Rainforest, and white cardstock using the Mini Blooms & Sprigs Die Set.  I finished the card off with a few Silver Mix Gems and trimmed the top two corners of the card base off at an angle with my paper trimmer for a little added interest.

CLEAR STAMP OF THE MONTH KIT

Don’t worry…if mini slimline cards aren’t your style, there are plenty of ways to use this month’s kits for standard A2 cards!  I trimmed a panel cut with the Small Die of the Month Kit and paired it with some of the gorgeous floral images in this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit for this pretty A2-sized friendship card.

With big beautiful images, plenty of lovely sentiments, and even a label that fits perfectly onto the small flap of the mini slimline envelope from the Large Die of the Month Kit, this month’s Clear Stamp is one of my favorites so far!  I stamped the large cluster and single stem onto white cardstock using alcohol-friendly ink and colored the images with Copic markers before fussycutting them out with scissors.  Then I cut white cardstock using the largest three dies from the Small Die of the Month Kit and stamped a sentiment in the center using the same ink.

After trimming the die-cut panel with my paper trimmer, I added it to a top-folding A2-sized kraft card base with foam adhesive before adding the floral images with even more foam adhesive.  Tons of Silver Mix Gems add a pretty and sparkly finishing touch.

I hope you enjoyed these pretty floral cards and thanks so much for stopping by today.  You can subscribe to any of the Spellbinders Clubs now and never miss a fun kit like these again!  And don’t miss the Star Spangle Savings Event going on over at Spellbinders from now until Monday, July 5th for up to 40% off select products!

      Thanks so much Marisela!

Maybe if I had seen your cards sooner I might not have cancelled my subscription of several years. The LDM and SDM have been way to (as I say) gaudy others say ornate since pretty much January. I just wanted to tell you that I really liked your cards especially the A2 and I appreciate the tips you gave for the pink card. You opened my eyes, thank you.

Thank you so much Cindy! I really enjoy the kits and love finding ways to use some of the more ornate dies in a clean and simple way!
