Starry Night Ride

This little scenic card was inspired by Sandy’s white inked moon backdrop from the bonus lesson this past weekend at OnlineCardClasses.

I punched the moon out of a scrap piece of cardstock with a circle punch and inked the background with some Brilliance “Moonlight White” pigment ink.  Although it’s difficult to see in the photo, I did add some dark spots and texture to my moon like Sandy did with a Q-tip.  Then I stamped my sentiment (from the “Merry Trees” set from Simon Says Stamp) in Versamark ink and dotted the background with my Versamark pen to make stars (or snow).  All of these were heat embossed with pearl embossing powder for a subtle look.
The old city skyline was cut on my Cameo after fiddling quite a bit with this design from the Silhouette Online Store.  I created the yellow backdrop for the city by using the Internal Offset Tool so that it wouldn’t peek out from behind the buildings.  Lastly, I designed the sleigh silhouette myself in the Studio software and you can download it below for any holiday projects you might want it for!  Santa’s harness was made from a bit of tinsel that I pulled out of some silver metallic twine and wrapped around each of their little necks.
I provide free studio files from time to time here on my blog, but do not label the posts as such, so the best way to catch them is to subscribe using the little button up in the top right corner.  And if you would like to be able to download them in SVG format too, just leave a comment telling me so below.  These free files are for personal use only and I’d love it if you would leave a comment when you stop by to grab one!
Thanks for having a look today!
