Watercolor Holly Card and a Freebie

Watercolor Holly Card by Annie Williams - Main

I have a friend who’s not quite into traditional Christmas icons and colors, but loves nature and flowers.  So, every year I try to make her a Christmas card that I think fits her personality…and most of the time it turns out to be more fun because I’m not stuck with all the same colors and techniques as the rest of my cards.  This year I took the Holly Jolly stamp set from Hero Arts, stamped it in Versamark ink on some watercolor paper, and heat embossed it in white.  Then I dropped in some bright colors from my Peerless Watercolor Palette and didn’t blend them much so it left them looking a bit unrefined (a.k.a. messy!).

After I finished my card, I was inspired to make this set of cut files for this week’s Friday Freebie.  Hopefully they will help you finish up some last-minute Christmas projects!

You can piece these together using different colored cardstock or layer them in the Studio software and create your own Print & Cut designs (I’ve filled the pieces with color to make it easier to do either).  Click below to download the free cut file:

Free cut files and printables are meant to be enjoyed, but never sold or redistributed as your own (for personal use only please).  If you share your creation on a blog or online gallery, please link back to this post as the source of the file and/or inspiration.  I’d love to see your projects too, so feel free to leave a link in the comments section!

Thanks for stopping by and, as always, I’d love to hear your comments!
