Welcome Baby Banner Card

Welcome Baby Banner Card by Annie Williams - Main

I don’t think I’ve shared the news here yet, so many of my readers probably still don’t know…but my husband and I are expecting our first little one this September.  In honor of that tiny miracle, I’m going to be sharing a few baby projects (cards, home decor, and gifts!) over the next week or so, starting with this simple and cheerful baby card made with Pink&Main stamps.

The banners were stamped on Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up) in Pool Party, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron inks (SU) using the new “Planner Tabs” set (Certainly Celery is now retired, but Pear Pizzazz is a very close alternative).  There are tons of options for using this set outside of just normal planner stamping – you can make multiple sizes of banners as well as little flag borders for sentiments.  (I have an Erin Condren Life Planner, but it serves more of a functional purpose for me right now than a decorative or creative one.)

After cutting them out with a little white border, I popped the flag shapes up on top of some baby blue baker’s twine (American Crafts) with foam dimensionals to form my banner.  I also added some enamel shapes that I found in my stash that fit perfectly in the open space of two of the flags.

The cute giraffe image and sentiment are from the “Little One” set by Pink&Main.  I stamped the giraffe in Versafine Onyx Black ink, melted some clear embossing powder over top, and then colored him with prismacolor pencils.  I chose not to blend the pencil much to give it more of a child-like feel.

My sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink and embossed in white on Pool Party cardstock (SU).  I used my Fiskars small hexagon punch to clip the one end several times in a fishtail shape, then adhered all of the little pieces to add emphasis to the text.

I hope you enjoyed this cheerful little baby card today!  I’ll be back on Friday with a full tutorial on using the new trendy reactive foils with your Silhouette on a fun home decor project.  Thanks for stopping by!
