It’s just by luck that I had some wood veneer paper from my Simon Says Stamp Holiday card kit to try this technique with today…and once I figured out how to cut it with my Cameo, I promptly ordered more. Piecing together a few designs from the Silhouette Online Store (using the Subtract tool), I was able to create a little winter scene on this 3″x4″ sheet that I cut using the settings for chipboard in the Studio software.
After coloring the pieces with Spectrum Noir markers, I glued them all back into place and matted this wood sheet on some patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye. The card base is made from some Bazzill cardstock that I stamped with one of the “Holiday Borders” from Simon Says Stamp in Soft Sky ink from Stampin’ Up. The sentiment (from “Holiday Hellos” by Simon Says Stamp) was then heat embossed in white.
I added a touch of glitter to the wood inlay with the Wink of Stella clear glitter brush and finished my card off with a tiny bow of twine from Jillibean Soup.

I love the wood inlay, I don’t have any in my stash – YET! Great cutting on the antlers, I think your coloring is wonderful and you have all the right touches. Nice to see what the inlay would look like mounted into a colored card. Have to love Jennifer, Kristina and the gang!
