Spellbinders December 2022 Club Kits

Happy December friends! It’s reveal day for the December 2022 Club Kits from Spellbinders and the gorgeous designs are all about love this month!  Today I’m sharing ten card projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, Embossing Folder of the Month, Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, Card Kit of the Month, and Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kits.

LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH

This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Blooming Heart“, is a huge set of 13 dies that can be used to create a beautiful layered floral background in the shape of a heart or use the bunches separately as an accent.  I created a bright and cheery Valentine’s Day card with pretty gold accents.

I cut the heart-shaped base out of white and added floral bunches cut in shades of purple, pink, and teal.  Once assembled, I added it to a card base created by embossing a piece of Royal Amethyst Cardstock with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month and matting with Mirror Gold Cardstock before adhering it all to a top-folding 5″ square white card base.  That pretty sentiment banner was foiled in gold using this month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month.

SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH

This month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Stitched Heart Card Front“, is another beautiful set with tons of versatile elements.  The kit contains 7 cutting dies that allow you to cut several background layers, a stitchable heart, and even three beautiful sentiment banners.  I cut mine out of pinks and golds for a super sweet love card.

After cutting the heart out of Pink Sand Cardstock, I quickly stitched it up using white thread.  The lattice layer (cut from Mirror Gold Cardstock here) is also stitchable, but I chose to add some gems instead of stitching because it already looks so beautiful on its own.  The background was again created using this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month and I added a couple of tiny flowers from the Glimmer Kit of the Month to embellish.

GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH

This month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month, “Floral Framed Glimmering Heart” contains 5 Glimmer plates along with 8 beautifully-coordinating dies that can be used to foil a bunch of heart-shaped layers or several gorgeous sentiments and cut many of the layers as well as some floral accents out.  I foiled several of the heart layers from the kit and added just a few embellishments for this simple and sweet love card.

I applied Gold Hot Foil directly to a Teal Topaz background panel using the largest floral heart design.  Then I foiled the scalloped heart and sentiment onto white cardstock and cut them out with the coordinating dies.  You can foil a solid heart layer as well, but I chose to just cut it out of some Fruit Punch Cardstock instead.  Once layered up, I embellished the card with a few small flowers and handful of Gold Mix Gems.

CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT

This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit is another gorgeous heart design!  “My Forever Person” is a set of 11 stamps that can be used to create two different embellished heart shapes, a floral “love” word, and five beautiful sentiments.  If your subscription includes the coordinating dies, you’ll also get 6 dies to cut the images out.  I stamped the heart designs onto Phone Booth and Fruit Punch Cardstock using Versamark Ink and added white embossing powder to create this pretty focal image.  (To give them a little depth, I inked around the edges of the hearts with Festive Berries and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink.)

To create the background, I trimmed a piece of Silver Fox Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, embossed it with the Embossing Folder of the Month, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive.  After adding my hearts to the card front, I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set on white cardstock and tossed a few Silver Mix Gems on to embellish.

EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH

You’ve seen this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, “Heart Blooms“, several times already because I love the beautiful and versatile design so much!  I kept thinking that I would have loved a Glimmer Plate in the style of Heart Blooms, so I did my best to create that kind of background by applying gold pigment ink to one side of the folder and embossing Onyx Cardstock with it for a golden letterpress effect.

I stamped the “love” letters and sentiment from the My Forever Person Stamp Set onto white cardstock and embossed them in gold.  After cutting the letters out using the coordinating dies, I blended Kitsch Flamingo and Festive Berries Distress Ink over them with a sponge dauber.  Since the background was so flashy, I kept it simple and just adhered the sentiments to the card front with foam adhesive.

AMAZING PAPER GRACE DIE OF THE MONTH

Once again, this month’s Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month is a gorgeous and intricate design.  The “Sweetheart Envelope & Notecard Set” is a massive die set containing 14 dies that can be used to cut a beautiful little card and pocket as well as several pretty heart and floral accents.  I used the kit in a slightly different way because I thought the arch design would make a great background as well, so I cut the layers out of white and Dune Cardstock and added it to a pretty pink embossed card base.

I added a simple heart to the card front cut from Poppy Field Cardstock using one of the layers in the kit and thought the sentiment from the Glimmer Kit of the Month would work great on top.  To finish the card off, I embellished with a few flowers from the kit and added tons of Red Mix Gems.

CARD KIT OF THE MONTH

Lastly, this month’s Card Kit of the Month, “Love Grows Here” is chock full of beautiful floral imagery, pretty sentiments, and a really sweet die set that cuts a pair of tufted birds on a cute spring branch.  I used lots of different elements in the kit to create four easy avian-inspired cards.

I had to play with that fun die set first, so I cut all of the pieces using cardstock in the kit and assembled them on top of panel of white cardstock with liquid glue.  After matting the scene with Mirror Gold Cardstock, I added it to a card base topped with pretty patterned paper from the kit.  The sentiment is one of the foiled die-cuts from the kit as well.

For this next card, I arranged several of the floral die-cut shapes from the kit on top of some patterned paper before adding a chipboard polaroid frame on top.  The bird die-cut holds a love letter and I finished the card off with a tiny puffy sticker sentiment.

Another chipboard frame encircles one of the pretty sentiments from the stamp set in the kit on this card.  I added some floral die-cut shapes around the frame and adhered them all down to a card base before stamping some cute music notes on the background.

Lastly, I loved all of the different birdhouses in the kit, so I chose three of them and added them to a patterned paper background with foam adhesive.  A couple of sweet bird die-cuts and some puffy hearts and a sentiment finish off this easy love card.
