Happy New Year! I love Christmastime and I’m always a little sad when the holidays are over, so I try my best to throw myself into winter and Valentine’s Day projects to cheer myself up. The new club kits from Spellbinders this month are perfect for this because they are all gorgeous, romantic designs. Today I’m sharing two projects made with both the Large Die of the Month and the Clear Stamp of the Month because many of the elements coordinate so well.
The Large Die of the Month Kit, “Slimline Kaleidoscope“, is a massive set of dies with a beautiful slimline-sized background die, intricate layering heart dies, and pretty little flower and leafy branch dies to embellish. I cut all of the pieces out of shimmering cardstock (linked below) for a soft and pretty look, and added a touch of silver with the heart base layer.
Once cut, I adhered the aqua background die-cut onto a top-folding slimline-sized white card base (3.5″ x 8.5″) with foam adhesive. After layering up the heart die-cuts with liquid glue, I popped them up into the window areas with more foam adhesive.
The sentiment, from this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, was stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed in silver before adding it to the center heart with foam adhesive. I then added several flowers and leafy branches around the card front to finish it off. I love all of the intricate details and layers and can’t wait to mix and match the pieces in this kit with the other January kits even more!
This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, “Sending Love“, is beautiful and versatile…another stamp set you’ll be able to pull out again and again! There are so many ways to use these classic heart designs and I thought they’d look great in bright, cheery colors on a square card.
I started by stamping four of the heart designs onto white cardstock with Versamark Ink before adding white embossing powder and melting it with a heat tool. Then I cut each heart out with the outline die from the Large Die of the Month Kit (they coordinate perfectly!) before blending two bright shades of Distress Ink (listed below) over each one with foam blending tool.
I stamped the skinny sentiment from the stamp set onto black cardstock as well and embossed it in white before trimming it into a small strip. After adhering black cardstock to 5″ square white card base, I added a pretty white background cut with the largest die in the Picot Petite Squares die set using foam adhesive.
Each heart was adhered to the card front with foam adhesive and then I popped the sentiment strip up in the center of the card to finish off this clean and simple card. I love the contrast between the black, white, and bright colors!
