Every year, September just can’t roll around fast enough for me to bring out all of the pumpkins, sunflowers, and brightly colored leaves. Today I wanted to create a bright and pretty card with big autumn bouquets and these leaf and flower images from Rubbernecker were perfect for it! I thought a golden woodgrain background would complement the colored images and add a little texture and shine.
- Stamp the leaves from the Splatter Leaves Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black alcohol-friendly ink. Repeat this with a couple of the flower images from the Daisy Day Dream Stamp Set.
- Color the images in with alcohol markers (here I’m using Tombow ABT Pro Markers) and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
- Note: This was the first time I had used the Tombow ABT Pro Markers (Tombow kindly sent them to me to try out in my cardmaking) and they blend beautifully, even with limited colors. The nibs are sturdy and the round barrel feels great in my hand, which is a huge bonus if you color for extended periods of time like I do. If you’re looking for a great set of alcohol markers, I can’t recommend these enough and have used them several times since on projects that I’ll be sharing soon!
- Trim a piece of kraft cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″.
- For a little something different, use the Wood Grain Stencil to emboss the kraft cardstock by adding an embossing mat to your sandwich for your diecutting machine.
- Lightly apply gold gilding wax to the embossed panel to enhance the raised areas and add a little shine.
- Stamp a sentiment from the Splatter Leaves Stamp Set onto white cardstock with Versafine Clair Pinecone Ink.
- Cut it out using the Nested Oval Small Stitch Die Set.
- Adhere the background panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive.
- Pop the sentiment oval up in the center of the card front.
- Arrange the flowers and leaves around the sentiment and secure down with more foam adhesive.
