Birthday Celebrations Collection from Spellbinders

Welcome back friends!  I’m so excited to be back today to share a TON of projects made with the new Birthday Celebrations Collection from Spellbinders.  In honor of their 20th birthday, Spellbinders has released a huge new collection of gorgeous dies, glimmer plates, stamps, and more.  Happy Birthday Spellbinders!

COLOR BLOCK BALLOONS CARD

I loved these big, beautiful balloon dies so decided to use them first.  After cutting Waterfall, Beeswax, Pink Sand, Dahlia, and white cardstock with the Color Block Balloons Die Set, I pieced them together and added some Mirror Gold strings.  The sentiment was embossed in gold using the Birthday Unboxing Sentiments Stamp Set.

For an easy background, I embossed white cardstock with the new Hand Drawn Scallops Embossing Folder and matted it with some Teal Topaz Cardstock (both cut with the Precision Layering Mini Slimline A & B Die Sets) before adhering it to my card base.  To embellish, I added a few Crystal Mix Gems.

STITCHED FRINGE BIRTHDAY CAKE CARD

And how cute is this stitched birthday cake?!  After cutting three layers out with the Stitched Fringe Cake Die Set, I added white embroidery thread to the center using a cable chain stitch to resemble a piping pattern.  Then I added a base and candles cut from Mirror Gold and Cosmic Sky Cardstock.

I added some texture to the background again with the Hand Drawn Scallops Embossing Folder and matted it with Pink Sand Cardstock cut using the largest die from the Fluted Classics Rectangles Die Set.  A few Crystal Mix Gems and a foiled sentiment finish this fun card off.

STITCHED FANFARE BIRTHDAY CARD

If you enjoy stitching, then the beautiful new Stitched Fanfare Die Set is for you!  I stitched a rainbow of colors across this fun background and mounted it on top of Mirror Gold Cardstock before adding it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.

That gorgeous sentiment was cut from white and Mirror Gold Cardstock using the Stylized Happy Birthday Die Set…I love the look of this delicate and fun sentiment!

SIMPLE FOILED HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARD

Here is that same beautiful sentiment with a little extra sparkle and shine!  I cut the layers from Pink Glitter Foam, Teal Glitter Foam, and Mirror Gold Cardstock for extra impact.  The background was created by applying Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Hand Drawn Loops Glimmer Plate and my Glimmer Hot Foil System.

After matting the foiled background with some Mirror Gold and Waterfall Cardstock, I simply adhered it to a white card base and added the sentiment on top with foam adhesive.  A few Pink Gems add a touch more sparkle.

LET’S CELEBRATE YOU BALLOON

There are tons of fun new sentiments in this collection and I love how this one from the It’s Party Time Stamp Set fits perfectly in the shape from the Color Block Balloons Dies Set.  I embossed the greeting in white onto Dahlia Cardstock and cut it out with the die before adding a little bit of a gold shadow and a white string.

The background was again foiled onto white cardstock using the Hand Drawn Loops Glimmer Plate, but then I applied Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink over top for a fun gradient effect.  To finish off this simple card, I added a cute tag to the balloon string from the Birthday Celebrations Die Cuts Pack.

BALLOON BOX BIRTHDAY CARD

Here is another one of the sentiments from the It’s Party Time Stamp Set stamped onto a balloon die cut using the Color Block Balloons Die Set.  This time he’s floating out of this cute box cut from white cardstock using the Surprise Box Die Set and stamped with the Birthday Unboxing Sentiments Stamp Set.

Who is that peeking out of the box?  It’s the adorable Balloon Party Animal Die Set!  I pieced him together using two tones of blue shimmer cardstock and added the whole scene to card front made with some bright patterned paper from the Cheerful Occasions Paper Pad and embellished with Crystal Mix Gems.

PARTY BALLOON ANIMAL CARD

I couldn’t help but put that adorable die-cut on another card, so I cut the Balloon Party Animal Die Set out of two tones of gold shimmer cardstock next and applied white pigment ink through the dies to add some cool highlights.  After assembling him, I added him to a white background cut with the Essential Circles Die Set so he wouldn’t get lost on my card.

Patterned paper from the Cheerful Occasions Paper Pad was cut with the Essential Rectangles Die Set before being matted with Mirror Gold Cardstock and added to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.  To finish the card off, I added a fun sentiment from the It’s Party Time Stamp Set, embossed in gold.

FOILED BIRTHDAY CANDLES CARD

This bright and simple card is all about the foiling!  I applied Gold Hot Foil across the bottom of a panel of white cardstock using the So Many Candles Glimmer Plate, then colored the design in rainbow colors using Copic markers.

After matting the panel with Cosmic Sky Cardstock, I adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.  A simple and pretty sentiment from the Birthday Unboxing Glimmer Plate Set was added to finish off the card.

BIRTHDAY BABE MINI LAYOUT

There are so many gorgeous pieces in this collection, you can easily create other kinds of papercrafting projects as well.  Here I used some of the Cheerful Occasions Paper Pad, Birthday Celebrations Die Cuts, and Birthday Celebrations Stickers to create a background for this cute 6×6 layout.

I added Color Block Balloons Die Cuts, a foiled candle border, and a pretty sentiment from the Birthday Unboxing Sentiments Stamp Set to embellish.  And for some texture, I even added a small panel embossed with the Hand Drawn Scallops Embossing Folder.

BIRTHDAY FLOWER BOX CARD

For one last birthday card, I thought I’d mix in an older and very popular die set as well.  After cutting the Surprise Box Die Set out of some kraft cardstock, I stamped some fun greetings on the side using the Birthday Unboxing Sentiments Stamp Set.  Then I filled the box with tons of flowers cut using the Be Bold Blooms Die Set.

I added the bouquet box to a pretty background made from some of the patterned paper from the Cheerful Occasions Paper Pad and matted with Beeswax Cardstock.  To finish the card off, I foiled another sentiment using the Birthday Unboxing Glimmer Plate Set and adhered it beneath my exploding box with foam adhesive.
