Have you seen the latest release from Rubbernecker? The Christmas In July release is chock full of cute snowmen, beautiful winter florals, pretty background stamps, and gorgeous new holiday dies that are perfect for getting a head start on your holiday cards! I used some of the new stamp sets from the release to create three fun winter cards.
COZY WINTER WINDOW CARD
I thought the Girl In Window Stamp Set was so beautiful and unique, I had to play with this one first. Although this is a holiday set, I felt with the right sentiment it could also work as a cozy everyday winter card to send to send to a friend.
I started by stamping the window, girl, and cat images onto white cardstock and colored them in with my Tombow ABT Pro Markers. You can then either trim them out with scissors or use the coordinating dies. To create the background panel, I partially embossed a piece of Barely Peach Cardstock (trimmed to 5″ square) with the Repeating Bricks Stencil and lightly added Mocha Ink through the stencil as well for a very subtle wall texture.
After stamping a sentiment to the right of the embossing using the Cats In Coffee Cups Stamp Set, I matted the panel with Onyx Cardstock and adhere it to a top-folding 5.25″ square white card base with tape runner. Then I simply added the colored images on the left side of the card front with foam adhesive. I love this sweet and peaceful card!
WATERCOLORED POINSETTIA CARD
Next I wanted to create a more traditional holiday card, so I pulled out the gorgeous new Poinsettia Stamp Set. I stamped the large poinsettia image and tons of different holly leaves onto watercolor cardstock using Crimson and Basil Inks. After pulling the color out of the line images a bit with clean water, I added some red, green, and yellow color (by pressing Crimson, Basil, and Custard Inks onto a palette and picking the ink up with my water brush) for a loose watercolor look. I then trimmed the images out with my scissors, but coordinating dies are available for this set as well.
The background was creating by stamping a piece of kraft cardstock in Caramel Ink using the Twas The Night Background Stamp and cutting it out with the largest die from the Nested Deckle Rectangle Die Set. I swiped some Versamark Ink around the edges of the background panel and added gold embossing powder for a gilded edge look. I also embossed a sentiment from the Christmas Gnomes Stamp Set in the same gold on white cardstock and cut it out using a smaller die from the Nested Deckle Rectangle Die Set.
To assemble, I matted the background panel with both Poppy Field and Fern Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I popped the poinsettia, holly leaves, and sentiment up on top of the card front with foam adhesive and added Fashion Gold Embellishments to finish off the card.
FROSTY FUN MINI SLIMLINE CARD
I couldn’t get over how adorable the little guys in the Cute Snowmen Stamp Set were, so I created a fun winter scene for them to dance around in this sweet mini slimline card. After stamping the images from the Cute Snowmen Stamp Set onto white cardstock, I colored them in with my Tombow ABT Pro Markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
I then die cut two pieces of white cardstock using the largest die from the Mini Slimline Tabbed Scallop Stitch Die Set. One was cut again with one of the dies from the Stitched Hills Die Set to form the snowbank. I stamped the other with different tree images from the Pine Tree Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Shady Lane and Rain Forest Inks before blending Sonata Ink around the top edges with a blending brush. I added some snowflakes in Sonata Ink and a sentiment in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink using the Snowmen With Presents Stamp Set as well.
To assemble the card, I matted the background panel with Blue Spruce Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding white card base measuring 3.75″ x 6.25″ with tape runner. Then I simply popped the snowbank and snowmen up on top of the card front with foam adhesive.
