I may have to drive nearly 45 minutes to get to our closest Target, but living in the country sure has its benefits. Right now nearly all of the farms surrounding our neighborhood have at least one small plot of big, beautiful sunflowers that are in full bloom. Today I’m sharing a fun slimline card featuring the Crazy For Daisies Stamp Set and coordinating dies from LDRS Creative. With a little tweak to the color scheme, these daisies make great sunflowers and are perfect for sending a late summer hello to faraway friends who may not get to see the kind of beauty I do every day.
I started by stamping the border and corner floral images as well as a couple of extra leafy branches from the Crazy For Daisies Stamp Set in Raven Hybrid Ink onto some white cardstock. After coloring the images in with alcohol markers, I die cut them using the coordinating dies.
(Note: these dies cut the image out AND add some interior detail cutting so that you can pop some of the pieces up for tons of dimension!)
I trimmed a piece of kraft cardstock to 3.5″ x 8.5″, stamped a sentiment from the Crazy For Daisies Stamp Set in Versamark ink, added white embossing powder, and melted it with a heat tool before adhering it to a top-folding slimline-sized card base. After arranging the colored, die cut images around the border of the card, I adhered a frame I cut using the Slim Line Corner Scallop Die Set and some white woodgrain cardstock. For a little fun, I added some cute bugs that I stamped from the Strawberry Patch Stamp Set and cut out using the coordinating dies too.
