The flowers are starting to bloom and the foxes have been running around my backyard lately, so when I saw the adorable new Be Wild stamp set from Rubbernecker, I knew right away I wanted to create a bright springtime scene with it. To give them a sweet storybook feel, I used no line watercoloring on my critters and placed them in a cheerful scene created with simple die-cuts and a little stenciling. Here are the easy steps to make this card:
- Stamp the fox and mouse images from the Be Wild stamp set onto white cardstock with Mocha ink.
- Color them in with Copic markers for a no-line appearance.
- Die cut them out with the coordinating dies.
- Trim a piece of white cardstock to 3″ x 8″.
- Cut reusable stencil material or thin cardstock with the Slimline Clouds Die to form a stencil. Blend several layers of clouds onto the background panel with Sonata ink and a blending brush.
- Stamp a sentiment in the top center of the panel using the Be Wild stamp set and Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.
- Die cut white cardstock using the Tabbed Birch Trees Die. Add a bit of a shadow to one side using warm grey Copic markers.
- Die cut pink cardstock using the Mixed Flower Stack Die. Take the three smallest flower layers and add a bit of darker pink to the centers with a Copic marker, then shape the petals using a ball stylus.
- Die cut kraft cardstock with the Slimline OPC Squares Die and bright green cardstock with one of the Slimline Grass Dies.
- Cut a few small stems for your flowers out of dark green cardstock using the Leaves and Greenery Die.
- Mat the clouds background with pink cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding slimline-sized white card base with tape runner.
- Adhere the trees and grass on top of the background panel with liquid glue.
- Pop the kraft-colored frame over top using foam adhesive.
- Tuck the flowers into the grass and adhere down with liquid glue.
- Pop the animals up on top using foam adhesive.
