Every year around this time, a new family of finches moves into some sort of cubby around my house, so when I saw the nesting chick from the new Chicks & Egg Stamp Set by Rubbernecker, I couldn’t help but tuck him and his friend into the windows of this fun background die. Here are the easy steps I took to create this fun Easter card:
- Stamp the images from the Chicks & Eggs Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Mocha Ink for a no-line coloring effect.
- Color them with Copic markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies. I added a few touches like the eyes back in with a black fine-tip pen after coloring.
- Trim a piece of light aqua cardstock to 3.5″ x 4.75″. Blend Whisper and Dreamer Inks over the bottom two-thirds of the panel with a blending brush.
- Ink up the Flowering Vine Background Die with Dreamer Ink and stamp the pattern over the ink-blended panel.
- Once dry, stamp the greeting from the Chicks & Eggs Stamp Set onto the background panel in Versamark Ink, add white embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool.
- Die cut white cardstock with the Window with Pierce Die. Trim light purple and purple cardstock to 3.75″ x 5″ and 4″ x 5.25″, respectively.
- To assemble, mat the ink-blended and stamped background panel with the light purple and purple cardstock panels and adhere to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
- Adhere the pierced frame on top of the card front with foam adhesive.
- Add the characters into the windows of the frame with more foam adhesive.
