Easy Halloween Cats Card

With just a few days left before Halloween, I realized that I hadn’t had the chance to use all of the fun, spooky craft supplies I bought for the occasion yet.  So before they get tossed aside in the seasonal bin for next year, I thought I would share a couple more simple cards that can be made in no time flat with just a handful of supplies.  The “Luna the Halloween Cat” stamp set was released by Hero Arts last year, but was a must-buy for me after my very special black kitty, Spot, passed away last month.  (I miss her terribly and dedicate this card to her and all of the other furry friends we may have lost recently.)

Start by stamping the Halloween cats onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock measuring 4″ x 5.5″.  I arranged the images around a sample die-cut of my sentiment, then picked up the stamps on my MISTI door, and made a double impression using Versafine Onyx Black Ink for a super dark and solid array of silhouettes.

Trim and score a top-folding A2-sized white card base and apply Grape Juice, Orange Soda, and Green Hills Shadow Inks on the left side of the card front using a blending brush for a seamless blend and light application.  (Note: I LOVE this ink color combination for Halloween…super vibrant!)

Die cut the Happy Halloween sentiment three times out of white cardstock using the Halloween Trimmings Stamp & Cut set.  Ink one of the sets using the same Grape Juice, Orange Soda, and Green Hills inks from the last step and a blending brush, then stack the three layers and adhere them together using a fine-line glue pen.

To assemble, adhere the stamped panel to the card base using foam adhesive, positioning the panel so that the colorful inking on the card base shows through on the left side.  Then adhere the layered sentiment with a fine-line glue pen.

For a little extra fun, I glued a handful of Clear Water Droplets to the front as if they were bubbles floating upward from the cauldron at the bottom.

I hope I’ve inspired you to join us over at A Blog Named Hero for this month’s “Nature” challenge!  Get creative with you favorite Hero Arts products for a chance to win a gift voucher to the Hero Arts store!
