With February nearly over and the snow finally starting to melt, I can almost smell the spring flowers just over the horizon. Today I have another new release to share with you…the February 2021 Release from LDRS Creative is full of gorgeous florals, adorable springtime critters, and more fun slimline products!
The Hoppy Egg Hunt Stamp Set is probably my favorite set of images from the release, so I immediately stamped them out onto white cardstock with Raven Hybrid Ink, colored them with my Copic markers, and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
To create the background for the card, I cut white cardstock twice with the double stitched layer in the new Pretty Patterns Slim Line Die Set. Then I blended grass and clouds onto the panels with a blending brush using the Rainy Day Stencil and Key Lime Pie, Evergreen, and Marina Madness Hybrid Inks. I made sure the stenciling on my second panel matched the first pretty closely, so that when you lift the peekaboo door on the top panel (cut using one of the dies in the Pretty Patterns Slim Line Die Set), the scene continues fairly seamlessly.
To assemble, I added a piece of patterned paper from the Pastel Patterns 4×9 Paper Pack to a top-folding 3.5″ x 8.5″ white card base. Then I popped a purple layer cut with the largest die from the Pretty Patterns Slim Line Die Set up on top with foam adhesive.
I adhered the two inked background panels together and added a greeting and some colored eggs from the Hoppy Egg Hunt Stamp Set underneath the peekaboo door. The layered background panels were adhered to the card base with tape runner.
To complete the egg hunt scene, I added the rest of the images from the Hoppy Egg Hunt Stamp Set to the card front with foam adhesive. A happy little sun cut with the Here Comes the Sun Die Set was the perfect finishing touch.
If you’re dreaming of spring flowers, there are some new beautiful options in this release to play with. The Pelargonium Stamp Set has so many beautiful elements, cards are a cinch to make with just one stamp set. I stamped the flower and butterfly images onto watercolor paper with Raven Hybrid Ink and colored them with Peerless Watercolors before adding a few details with colored pencil and cutting them out with the coordinating dies.
To create the faux-embossed background, I cut “love” out of white cardstock several times using the Sophie Alpha Lower Case Die Set and adhered the word over and over again with liquid glue onto a panel of white cardstock measuring 4.125″ x 5.375″.
I added a small piece of gingham patterned paper from the Pastel Patterns 6×6 Paper Pack and a sliver of black cardstock over the left side of the card front before adhering the flowers and butterfly on top with foam adhesive. A small sentiment from the Pelargonium Stamp Set, embossed in white on black cardstock, was added to the lower right to complete the card.
