Hello again friends! I excited to be back today to share a couple of projects made with the new Flower Market Collection from Spellbinders. (Check out the rest of the November release here…there is some really fun stuff this month!) This collection contains just two layering stencil sets designed to create full card fronts with gorgeous floral images. Here I used both stencil sets to create two simple and pretty cards perfect for sending a friendly hello.
BRIGHT FLORAL THINKING OF YOU CARD
The Coneflower Layered Stencil Set creates such a beautiful background that I had to use it with bright colors and add some easy shading to really give it a bold look. For each stencil layer, I applied two colors of Distress Inks with blending tools to give a shaded look: Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for greenery; Carved Pumpkin and Ripe Persimmon, Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry, and Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed for the flower petals; Tea Dye and Vintage Photo for the flower centers.
Once stenciled, I matted the image with Onyx Cardstock and added it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. To finish off this simple and bold card, I applied Opaque Black Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Must Have Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set, cut it out with the coordinating die, and added it to the lower corner with foam adhesive.
SUBTLE MATTE HELLO CARD
For the Blossoming Flowers Layered Stencil Set, I decided to go with the opposite look…a subtle matte finish that kinda reminds me of fabric. I applied Distress Oxide Inks to Cosmic Sky Cardstock using a pouncing motion with my blending tools: Kitsch Flamingo for the flowers, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the greenery, and Champagne Stardust Butter for the flower centers.
Once dry, I matted the panel with Brushed Gold Cardstock and added it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. To finish off the card, I die cut a pretty sentiment out of Brushed Gold and white cardstock using the Wonderful Script Sentiments Die Set and added it to the lower corner with foam adhesive.
