Hello again friends! Today I’m excited to share the new Holiday 3D Embossing Folders Collection from Spellbinders. With a gorgeous poinsettia print and a versatile diamond design, the two newest additions to the 3D Folder Collection will be ones that I pull out again and again (I’ve already used both several times!). I created a warm and cozy holiday card with the Scenic Poinsettias 3D Embossing Folder here, but check out the sneak peek below to see a few more ways to use these beautiful designs!
Using a technique inspired by Erum Tasneem, I first trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″ and very lightly embossed the panel with the Scenic Poinsettias 3D Embossing Folder (you can decrease the thickness of your sandwich to do this). Then I applied Candied Apple, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to the lightly debossed side of the paper to add color to the images (the light debossing allows you to see where to apply your ink without adding so much texture that you can’t ink evenly).
Once the color has been added, I ran the panel back through using the correct sandwich with the Scenic Poinsettias 3D Embossing Folder (courtesy of my Universal Plate System) to achieve a deeper embossing. Then I applied Vintage Photo Distress Ink all over the panel, darkening the “background” while leaving the color in the debossed areas.
I matted the panel with some Fern Cardstock and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I cut Mirror Gold Cardstock once and Fern Cardstock three times using the Classic Happy Holidays Die and stacked them together with liquid glue for a dimensional sentiment. Lastly, I added Gold Hot Foil to Fern Cardstock using the Glitter Wishes Glimmer Plate Set and added the small trip to the lower right corner with foam adhesive.
And here are three more projects I made with this beautiful collection. The first was created with the same Scenic Poinsettia 3D Embossing Folder and Classic Happy Holidays Die but the result is a completely different look. Then I created a frosty window for my Tweet Cardinal using the Dimensional Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder. And lastly, I added some pretty Holiday Blooms and the gorgeous Stylish Merry Christmas to a soft and pretty background created with the Dimensional Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder.
