Happy Friday friends! I’m excited to be back today to share a couple of projects made with the new House Mouse Spring Collection from Spellbinders. (Check out the entire June release here…so much good stuff!) This collection contains six new rubber stamp sets featuring the classic adorable House Mouse characters we’ve grown to love. I used the products in this collection to create three cute cards for different occasions.
Fun fact: My very first experience with a design team was as a guest designer waaaaay back in 2013 for the House Mouse & Friends Challenge Blog. I have about two dozen House Mouse woodblock stamps and several cling-mount stamps as well. It’s safe to say that I was VERY excited to see this collaboration happen with Spellbinders!
BERRY GOOD TOGETHER CARD
I couldn’t get over the cuteness of this image from the Berry Good Rubber Stamp Set and had to color this one up first! After stamping the image onto white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink, I colored it in with Copic markers. It’s a large image, but I only colored what I knew would show through the window on my card front.
The card front was created by diecutting a window out of the top portion of a piece of white cardstock using one of the dies from the Fluted Classics Circles Die Set. After embossing it with the new Floral & Vine 3D Embossing Folder, I adhered it over top of the colored image with foam adhesive. A simple and cute sentiment finishes off this sweet card.
CROCUS BOUQUET CARD
Next I picked up this adorable Bouquet For You Stamp Set. Once stamped onto a piece of white cardstock, I colored it with Copic markers in pretty spring tones. Since I knew I was going to use this panel as my card front and leave the background mostly uncolored, I added a thin blue border around the entire image with my B00 marker to give a hint of sky.
I cut the panel down with one of the Precision Layering A2 Dies and added a mat cut from Royal Amethyst Cardstock using the largest die from the Fluted Classics Rectangles Die Set. A couple of Crystal Mix Gems finish off this simple but pretty card.
SPECIAL DELIERY MINI SLIMLINE CARD
Lastly, I can never resist an image with a daisy, and the Daisy Mouse Stamp Set is uber adorable! I once again stamped the image from the stamp set onto white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers…this time fussycutting it out with a fairly wide border to retain all of the details in the image and coloring the border blue.
To create the background, I die cut a piece of white cardstock with the largest die from the Precision Layering Mini Slimline Die Set, embossed it with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month “Splish Splash”, and roughly blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over the panel to look like a windy day. After matting the panel with Wild Berry Cardstock, I adhered it to a top-folding white card base measuring 3.5″ x 6.5″ and popped the image and sentiment up on top with foam adhesive. A scattering of Crystal Mix Gems finishes off this fun card for a friend.
