Hello again friends! I know it’s been a while, but I wanted to stop by for what may be the last time this year to share a few projects made with the House Mouse Winter Collection from Spellbinders as well as a couple of the other recently released stamp collections. (You can check out the rest of the December release here.) This collection contains four stamp sets with adorable mice in fun winter scenes along with some great sentiments!
COZY KNITTING CARD
I thought this image from the Knit One Stamp Set was so sweet, I had to color it up first. After stamping it onto some white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink, I colored the image in quickly with Copic markers. To add in the background color, I did some wide sweeping strokes with yellow and blue markers and gave the edges a kind of fading look with the colorless blender pen.
Once colored, I trimmed the image down and added a tiny black mat border before adhering it on top of a panel of bright magenta cardstock that I had embossed with the Sweater Weather Embossing Folder. To finish off the card, I stamped a sentiment from the set, trimmed it into a small strip, and popped it up on the top corner of the card.
CUTE CHRISTMAS MOUSE CARD
Next I rewound a bit back to August when the House Mouse Holiday Collection was released to stamp out this adorable image from the Merry & Bright Stamp Set. After coloring it in with Copic markers, I outlined the entire image with a light blue marker to give it a bit of atmosphere. The sentiment was embossed in white onto some Crimson Cardstock using the Bringing Christmas To You Stamp Set from the same collection.
To assemble the card, I first die cut a window in some Forest Cardstock using one of the Essential Arches dies and then embossed it with the In The Pines Embossing Folder. After popping the panel up on top of the colored image, I added a little poinsettia and holly leaves from the Christmas Blooms Die Set to finish off the card.
BIRTHDAY STREAMERS CARD
Lastly, I created a super simple, but cute birthday card with one of the stamp sets from the House Mouse Everyday Collection that was released back in September. This image from the Party Streamers Stamp Set is big enough to fill almost an entire card front. I stamped it out and colored it, then just blended some Salty Ocean and Lost Shadow Distress Inks around the edges to give the illusion of a background.
Once colored, I matted the image with some Cosmic Sky Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I stamped a sentiment from the set onto white cardstock, trimmed it out, and popped it up in the corner of the card with foam adhesive.
