It’s been snowing a lot in my neck of the woods lately, so I’ve been dreaming a bit of springtime. And since I’m always in need of more birthday cards, I decided to create a bright and cheery floral one with gorgeous stamps and dies from Rubbernecker. I wasn’t in the mood for coloring, so thought ink blending could be a fast way to add tons of color with gorgeous smooth results.
- Trim a piece of teal cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″.
- Stamp the Happy Birthday Frame into the center of the panel with Versamark Ink, add white embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool.
- Position the Honeycomb Die in the top right corner of the panel (within the frame) and run through your diecutting machine.
- Ink the edges of the panel with Dreamer and Cedar inks using blending brushes to give the background panel more dimension.
- Stamp the Brushed Flower #7 image onto white cardstock with Versamark Ink, add white embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool. Repeat to yield a second image.
- Blend Apricot and Crimson inks over the three flowers on one of the stamped copies using sponge daubers. Cut the flowers out with scissors, leaving a small border.
- Blend Fern and Basil inks over the leaves and stems on the other stamped copy and cut it out with scissors again, leaving a small border.
- Add the teal background panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive.
- Adhere the leaves and stems to the lower left corner of the card front with foam adhesive. Add the flowers around the stems with two layers of foam adhesive.
