Metallic Plaid Card Duo

I love making quick and simple floral cards that can be used for a variety of occasions.  With a show-stopping metallic background thanks to the high shine of the Bright Foil Cardstocks from CutCardStock, your card projects can come together quite quickly because they won’t need much embellishment.

Start by trimming a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock in half along the longest side and scoring both pieces down the center to form two A2 top-folding card bases.  Then trim pieces of Basis Aqua and Olive Cardstocks to 4.25″ x 5.5″.

Die cut a piece of Gold and Silver Bright Foil Cardstock with a plaid background die (or background design of your choice).

Adhere the colored panel onto the folded white card base, then place the metallic die-cut background on top using foam tabs.  I found these foam strips and foam squares were the perfect size for adhering this background design.

Stamp floral images (Simon Says Stamp) using Versafine Onyx Black ink onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and color them with the markers of your choice.

Stamp sentiments (Hero Arts) onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock and die cut them out using a ribbon or banner die.

Adhere the stamped image and sentiment banner onto the front of the card base using more foam tabs.  (Note: check out how beautifully the Bright Foil Cardstock die cuts!)

I thought the rusty tones of this image went well with the gold background, while the silver background complimented the cool tones of the other.

I love how these metallic backgrounds really pack a punch, but still don’t overpower my focal images.  I hope you enjoyed this clean and simple card duo and thanks so much for stopping by today.  You can visit the CutCardStock store to purchase any of the supplies showcased today and if you liked this project please leave a comment below!
