Looking for an easy way to add a splash of color and texture to your cards? The new Glimmer Backgrounds Collection from Spellbinders features modern and versatile patterns and is designed so that it can be foiled once for borders and strips or foiled a couple times for a complete background.
Using the new Rainbow Hot Foil and the Modern Lines Glimmer Plate, I added a single swipe of color diagonally across my card front with my Glimmer Hot Foil System. I love all of the different colors this adds to my card and did my best to keep the rest of the design simple.
You can achieve some fun effects using only part of the Rainbow Hot Foil with your smaller foil plates too. Here I foiled my Hello sentiment using the cooler tones in the foil and the flower and leaves using the warmer tones (foiled die-cuts were then inked with Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade, and Mowed Lawn Distress inks). They look great paired together on top of this iridescent pearl vellum cut with one of the Essential Circles dies.
For a completely different look, I used the Hand Drawn Waves Glimmer Plate to create a landscape for this soft and pretty baby card. After foiling it with Prism Hot Foil (an iridescent silver foil) onto some light grey cardstock, I trimmed it out and added it on top of a panel that had been inked with a subtle polka dot pattern using the Bubble Bubble stencil and Spun Sugar Distress Ink.
I added this cute little white and pink elephant to the scene carrying a few balloons cut using the Sunday Drive Die Set. The sentiment, from the Happy Celebrations Die Set, was cut in matching colors and popped up in the lower corner.
