Happy Friday friends! As we head into the weekend, I wanted to offer a fun reminder that the official first day of spring is only two days away in the northern hemisphere! In honor of that, I’m sharing two pretty springtime cards made with new stamps and dies from Rubbernecker.
SPRING LAMBS FRIENDSHIP CARD
Spring is such a perfect time to break out the cute critter stamps in your stash and create bright and cheery scenes with them. Here I added a few sweet lambs from the Lambs and Flowers Stamp Set to an easy die-cut background for this pretty mini slimline card for a friend.
- Stamp the images from the Lambs and Flowers Stamp Set onto white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink.
- Color the images with Tombow ABT Pro markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. (I used just a few warm greys in the darkest shadow areas to make these fluffy white lambs pop.)
- Die cut aqua cardstock with the Mini Slimline Quilted Cover Die and blend Serene Ink around the edges with a blending brush to add a little depth.
- Die cut green cardstock first with the Mini Slimline Quilted Cover Die and then with one of the Tabbed Grass Dies. Position the grass die along the very bottom of the die cut to create a thin strip of grass. Blend Basil Ink along the bottom edge of the die-cut with a blending brush.
- Stamp a sentiment from the Kittie Says Phrases #1 Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.
- Trim the sentiment out into a small strip with a paper trimmer or scissors.
- Mount the background panel onto a top-folding white card base measuring 3.75″ x 6.25″ with foam adhesive.
- Pop the strip of grass onto the bottom of the card front with more foam adhesive.
- Add the lambs and flowers to the card front both with liquid glue behind the grassy border and foam adhesive in front of the grassy border for tons of depth.
- Add the sentiment strip to the top right corner with more foam adhesive.
HELLO SPRING CARD
So many of my spring cards begin with a soft and pretty background, but this time I wanted to use a lot of contrast and really pack a punch. I added some bright florals to an elegant black and gold card front for a bold way to say hello to the new season.
- Stamp the layers of the flower and stem from the Blooming Heart Stamp Set using Color Fuse Set #2, #4, and #11. (I mixed soft oranges and reds in my flower layers to achieve a more peach tone.)
- Cut the flowers out using the coordinating die.
- Die cut black cardstock using the largest die from the Mini Slimline Tabbed Deckle Die Set.
- Stamp the image from the Circle Background Strips Stamp Set onto the left edge of the die cut with Versamark Ink, add gold embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool.
- Stamp the “hello” sentiment from the Just Love Stamp Set onto black cardstock with Versamark Ink, add gold embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool.
- Trim the sentiment out into a small strip with a paper trimmer or scissors.
- Die cut black and gold cardstock using the shadow and word dies from the Spring Word Die Set.
- Adhere the layers together with liquid glue.
- Mat the background panel with gold cardstock and then pop it up on top of a side-fold white card base measuring just slightly larger than 3.5″ x 6″.
- Pop the flowers up on top of the card front in the top left using foam adhesive.
- Add the sentiment to the bottom of the card with more foam adhesive.
