We are well into spring in my neck of the woods and the flowers and trees are bursting with color all around, so today I wanted to create a bright and cheery hello card for springtime using a few nature-inspired images from Rubbernecker. Mixing several tone-on-tone stamped backgrounds is a quick and easy way to add lots of color and interest to a card.
- Start by stamping the marigold image from the Friend Phrases with Flower Stamp Set onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.
- Color the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and fussy-cut it out with scissors, leaving a small white border.
- Trim yellow and teal cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″.
- Apply Autumn Ink to the Rock Wall Background Stamp and stamp it onto the yellow cardstock. Repeat this step using Whisper Ink and the teal cardstock.
- Trim the stamped backgrounds into 2″ x 2.5″ pieces.
- Die cut white and black cardstock using the shadow and sentiment layers, respectively, from the Hello Script w/Shadow Die Set. Adhere the sentiment to the shadow layer with liquid glue.
- Stamp the “Friend” sentiment from the Build A Phrase #1 stamp set in Whisper Ink onto white cardstock and trim it out with scissors.
- Arrange the background pieces, alternating colors, to re-build the Rock Wall Background pattern and adhere down to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
- Adhere the colored image, die-cut sentiment, and stamped sentiment strip to the front of the card with foam adhesive.
- Add clear water droplets to the card with liquid glue if desired.
