Last spring I planted a huge tower of strawberry plants on my back deck for the first time and was amazed at how much fruit we’ve been able to collect this summer. It was my first experience with everbearing plants, so I was not expecting the fresh crop of berries that popped up this week either! Inspired by this delicious discovery, I created a cute summertime scene using stamps, dies and ink from LDRS Creative.
I started by created the backdrop for my card using just one stencil and a few different colors of ink. After trimming a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, I used the Rainy Day stencil and blending brushes to add grass to the bottom of the panel with Evergreen and Key Lime Pie hybrid ink. Then I used the cloud edge of the same stencil to add fluffy clouds in both Marina Madness and Dark Wash Jeans hybrid ink.
The bears and strawberries were stamped in Raven Hybrid Ink onto watercolor cardstock using the Strawberry Patch stamp set and colored with Peerless Watercolors. After cutting them out with the coordinating dies, I popped them up in the scene using foam adhesive. To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set in Kiss Me Red hybrid ink and cut it out with one of the dies in the Scalloped Rectangle Frame die set.
