Welcome back friends! Today I’m excited to share the new Painter’s Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. The beautiful new floral designs in this collection are perfect for sending warm springtime wishes or bright greetings any time of year! I used the new Gerber Daisy Die Set to create two pretty spring cards, but be sure to check out the additional samples using the other new flower designs below.
BOLD DAISY BOUQUET CARD
My very favorite flowers are gerber daisies, so I was excited to make tons of them in my very favorite colors with the new Gerber Daisy & Ladybugs Die Set. These two variegated varieties are the ones I choose to plant in my garden again and again, so I colored my die-cuts (all cut from Susan’s Garden Specialty Cardstock and shaped with the Ultimate Tool Kit) with bold pan pastel colors to mimic the look. Once assembled, I decided to add a simple bloom created with the Trillium Die Set as well for a little variety.
The backaground was created by cutting white cardstock with the largest die from the Fluted Classics Squares Die Set and blending blue ink up from one corner with a blending brush. Then I stamped the panel with a sentiment from the Through The Garden Gate Sentiments Stamp Set, matted the panel with Onyx Cardstock, and adhered it to a top folding 5″ square white card base with foam adhesive. After adhering my bouquet down to the front of the card with hot glue, I added a few Crystal Mix Gems to embellish.
SOFT AND PRETTY DAISY CARD
While playing around with my pan pastels, I created this soft and pretty variety of daisy as well, so I decided to use it on its own for a simpler card. The leaves came out a little lighter than I wanted at first (I don’t have many dark green options in my palette), but I kinda enjoy the soft vintage look of this bloom!
I embossed a piece of Portobello Cardstock using the Bamboo Trellis 3D Embossing Folder and rubbed a white pigment ink pad over the top to bring out the design. Once dry, I matted it with Mirror Gold Cardstock and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. After arranging my flower and leaves on top of the card front, I added a sentiment foiled using the Mini Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set and a few Gold Mix Gems.
I love the different looks you can achieve with the same die set, and the flowers look so real you can almost smell them! Four other beautiful floral die sets were released with this collection, though, so have a look at those below!
The first card shows bold and bright blooms created with the Zinnia Die Set nestled into a fun berry-picking basket and added to a background created with the Bamboo Trellis 3D Embossing Folder. The second is the beautiful Carolina Allspice Die Set arranged atop a background embossed with the same folder and next to a pretty foiled sentiment from the Yana’s Special Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set. And lastly, I created three different purple flowers using the new Pansy Die Set accented with a background die cut using the Postage Edge Squares and Postage Edge Circles Die Sets and embossed using the Orange Peel Quilt 3D Embossing Folder.
