Welcome to a brand new week friends! Today I’m sharing two cute cards featuring critter and background stamps fresh out of this month’s new release from Rubbernecker.
SPARKLY UNICORN CARD
Unicorns aren’t for everyone, but there’s something about the goofy and chunky characters in the new Unicorns Stamp Set that I think gives them mass appeal. I couldn’t resist this guy lounging on the moon and colored him up for a cute and sparkly encouragement card.
- Stamp the image from the Unicorns Stamp Set onto white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink.
- Color the image in with Tombow ABT Pro Markers and cut it out using the coordinating die.
- Trim a piece of blue cardstock to about 4.25″ x 5.5″ and stamp the stars from the Stars/Wavy Background Strips Stamp Set twice over the panel using Versamark Ink, add silver embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool.
- Die cut the panel using the largest die from the Mini Slimline Tabbed Deckle Die Set.
- Trim a piece of silver glitter cardstock to about 3.5″ x 5.5″.
- Stamp the stars pattern on the front of a top-folding A2-sized white card base using Chill Ink (to continue the pattern when the card is assembled).
- Stamp the sentiment from the Unicorns Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Azure Ink and trim it out with a paper trimmer.
- Cut a mat for the sentiment out of silver glitter cardstock (approximately 1.75″ square).
- Adhere the starry blue panel on top of the silver glitter cardstock using strong liquid glue and then pop it up in the center of the card front with foam adhesive.
- Add the colored image and sentiment to the card using more foam adhesive.
This card is so simple and cute and perfect for sending young ones a little hello!
APRIL SHOWERS CARD
Even though it was meant to be a fall-themed stamp set, I thought the sweet images and flowers in the Autumn Fox Stamp Set made it perfect for spring too. Offering a bouquet and bright umbrella for the not-so-sunny days, this cute fox card is the perfect way to tell a loved one that you’re here for them.
- Stamp the images from the Autumn Fox Stamp Set onto white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink.
- Color the images in with Tombow ABT Pro Markers and fussycut them out with scissors, leaving a thin white border so that they pop against the bright background.
- Trim a piece of aqua cardstock to about 4″ square.
- Apply Beachside Ink all over the Distress Harlequin Background Stamp, then dab away some of it with a baby wipe (for an even more distressed look!) before stamping the image onto the aqua panel.
- Die cut white cardstock using the Square Combo #1 OPC Die. Save the largest frame die-cut and then set aside all of the other frames for your next project.
- Stamp a sentiment from the Kittie Says Friends Stamp Set onto teal cardstock using Versamark Ink, add white embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool.
- Trim the sentiment out into a small square using a paper trimmer.
- Trim a piece of teal cardstock to just under 4.5″ square and adhere it to a top-folding 4.5″ square white card base with tape runner.
- Adhere the stamped background in the center of the card front with tape runner and then pop the white die-cut frame up on top with foam adhesive.
- Arrange the sentiment and images on the card front and adhere down with more foam adhesive.
