Hello again friends! Today I’m sharing two pretty cards featuring gorgeous new floral stamps fresh out of this month’s new release from Rubbernecker.
SUNFLOWER ENCOURAGEMENT CARD
There’s something about sunflowers and gingham that just screams summer. I could almost feel the warm, humid breeze whipping through my hair when I was making this bright floral encouragement card!
- Stamp the layered sunflower image from the Like A Sunflower Stamp Set three times onto white cardstock using Custard, Apricot, and Cinnamon Ink.
- Fussycut the images out with scissors, leaving a thin white border.
- Stamp the layered leaf images from the Blossoms in Spring Stamp Set three times onto white cardstock using Grass and Basil Ink.
- Cut them out with the coordinating dies.
- Add Beachside and Serene Ink through the two layers of the Plaid Texture Stencil set onto white cardstock with a blending brush.
- Lightly blend Sonata Ink over the entire panel to fill the white areas in. (You could start with light blue cardstock instead. I was originally planning to leave those areas of the background white, but wanted to tone them down in order to make my bouquet pop more.)
- Die cut the panel using the largest die from the Nested Deckle Rectangle Die Set.
- Stamp a sentiment from the Color My World Florals Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Blue Belle Versafine Clair Ink.
- Trim the sentiment out into a small strip.
- Add the background panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive.
- Arrange the flowers and leaves in the center of the card front and adhere down with liquid glue and foam adhesive for lots of dimension.
- Add the sentiment to the center of the bouquet with more foam adhesive.
- Send it off to someone who needs a little pick-me-up right now!
DAISY FIELD MINI SLIMLINE CARD
There are times when a stamp set is so beautiful, that I just want to let the images speak for themself. Here I’ve done very simple coloring with only two shades of colored pencils for a quick and easy mini slimline friendship card.
- Die cut yellow cardstock using the largest die from the Mini Slimline Tabbed Scallop Stitch Die Set.
- Stamp both of the images from the Daisies Are Stamp Set across the bottom of the die-cut panel using Amaretto Ink. Varying the height and alternate the images to create a pretty field of daisies.
- For a more whimsical look, I added tiny dots above the field using a small ball stylus dipped in Amaretto Ink and pressed onto the panel like a stamp.
- Using just two colored pencils, add white to the petals of the flowers and yellow to the flower centers and leaves for a pretty, monochromatic look.
- Tip – keep the pencil tips very sharp while coloring to prevent coloring over and blurring any of the stamped lines.
- Stamp the sentiment from the Happy Birthday Balloons Stamp Set onto blue cardstock with Versamark Ink, add white embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool.
- Trim out the sentiment into a small strip.
- Add the background panel to a top-folding white card base measuring 3.75″ x 6.25″ with foam adhesive.
- Adhere the sentiment to the top right corner of the card front with more foam adhesive.
