Have you seen the brand new Summer Adventures Release over at Rubbernecker Stamps? I loved all of the images in the new Dessert Stamp Set so much, I had to create two cards to be able to color nearly all of them. Perfect for birthday cards or just sending a sweet hello, these treats work great on their own as a focal image or all together as a background.
BIRTHDAY CAKE SLICE CARD
- Stamp the cake slice from the Dessert Stamp Set onto white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink.
- Color it with Copic markers and cut it out using the coordinating die.
- Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4.25″x 5.5″. Ink up the Not So Many Random Dots Background Stamp with three bright ink colors all at once randomly and stamp onto the white cardstock. Rotate the stamp, ink it up with three more bright ink colors, and stamp it once more. Each time I inked, I used colors together that would mix well together if they overlapped (Blue, Green, Yellow and Pink, Purple, Red).
- Die cut the stamped panel with the largest die from the Nested Scallop with Half Holes Die Set.
- To create the plate for the cake slice, die cut aqua cardstock with the Rectangle Combo OPC#3 Die and keep the smallest two die-cuts.
- Stamp a sentiment from the Best Friends Etc. Stamp Set onto black cardstock with Versamark Ink, add white embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool. Trim the sentiment out into a fishtail banner shape with scissors.
- Mat the die cut background panel with dark teal cardstock and adhere to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.
- Pop the plate up in the center of the card front with foam adhesive and add the slice on top with more foam adhesive.
- Adhere the sentiment beneath the focal image with foam adhesive.
- Add clear rhinestones to embellish.
SWEET WISHES CARD
Stamp sets that contain a bunch of images in various sizes are perfect for stamping your own patterned paper. What better way to send sweet wishes than with a card covered in delicious treats?
- Trim a piece of kraft cardstock to 4.125″ x 5.375″.
- Stamp several of the treats from the Dessert Stamp Set all over the kraft panel with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.
- Color the images in with Prismacolor pencils.
- Die cut white cardstock once and black cardstock three times using the Wishes Die. Adhere all of the layers together with the white die-cut on top, slightly offset to reveal a black shadow.
- Stamp the “sweet” from the Build A Phrase #1 Stamp Set in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink onto white cardstock. Trim the sentiment out with scissors or a paper trimmer.
- Adhere the colored background panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive.
- Add the die cut sentiment to the card front with liquid glue and the stamped sentiment with foam adhesive.
