I loved how so many of the kits coordinated this month, so I wanted to combine elements from many of them on this slimline love card. I started by cutting Mirror Gold Cardstock twice with the decorative pocket insert from this month’s Large Die of the Month Kit and adhering them with liquid glue on either end of a side-folding white card base measuring 4″ x 8.5″.
To join the two background pieces together I used the inner and outer diamond dies from the Diamond Floral Frame Glimmer Plate & Die Set to cut Mirror Gold and white cardstock. For a little texture, I embossed the smaller diamond with the Spreading Love Embossing Folder before matting it with the gold diamond and adhering it to the card front (trim the overhanging tips with a pair of scissors).
Note: The NEW Embossing Folder of the Month Club was launched on January 1st and the response was so overwhelming that it has now sold out for this month. Spellbinders will be trying to bring this design back again at a later time (check their “Past Clubs” section) and be sure to sign up for any Clubs right away on the 1st of the month so as not to miss out on any future designs!
Finally I applied Red Hot Foil to Poppy Field Cardstock and Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using this month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine and cut them out with the coordinating dies. After popping the foiled pieces up in the center of the card with foam adhesive, I embellished the background with a few Red Mix Gems.
