Hi friends! Today I’m excited to share a couple of projects made with the January 2023 Kit from Waffle Flower’s new Sneak Peek Club. The Sneak Peek Club is a brand new monthly subscription service that allows its members to play with new items about a month before they are released. Kits are normally revealed on the first of the month to subscribers if they opt in to spoiler alerts (and customers can choose to skip before they are charged on the 4th of the month after the first kit) and product selection will vary each time. So if you are a big fan of Waffle Flower products (and who isn’t?!), this is a really fun way to get your hands on a few new goodies every month before anyone else!
Here’s a look at the contents of this month’s kit…a sweet layered stencil, adorable bunny ears die set, and two different sizes of oval shaker covers come in a nice, heavy-duty project bag with kit instructions for a sample project. BUNNY EARS SHAKER EGG CARD
I had never tried one of Waffle Flower’s Shaker Covers before, so I started with this product first (the kits are a great way to try out new things!). I started by blending Tumbled Glass, Squeezed Lemonade, and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide Inks over a piece of white cardstock to form a rainbow oval. Then I added Pearl White and Platinum Stardust Butter over the blended area using the Layered Bows Stencil before cutting it out using one of the Nesting Ovals Dies. After adhering the smaller shaker cover in the kit around most of the rainbow “egg”, I added sparkling clear sequins and sealed this little pocket shut.
I cut white and pink cardstock using the Bunny Ears Die Set and assembled it with liquid glue after adding a little shading with ink. The bunny tail is just a second cut of the lopped ear and the tiny bowtie in the center is the perfect touch for this cute bunny shaker egg. To create the background, I trimmed a piece of Glacier Cardstock to 3.25″ x 6.25″, partially embossed the top using one of the stencils from the Layered Bows Stencil and an embossing mat for a little texture, and stamped a greeting from the Elegant Sentiments Stamp Set beneath the egg.
BUNNY EARS BABY CARD
Next I thought the Bunny Ears Die Set would be perfect for a sweet baby card. I started by trimming a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, then blended a ton of colors of Distress Ink in rainbow order down the page over each layer of the Layered Bows Stencil (using darker shades of each color on the second layer). I matted this panel with a piece of Purple Mist Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
This time I cut the Bunny Ears out in shades of tan and pink and added a cute purple bow to the ear for a nod to a new baby girl. I stamped a greeting from the Elegant Sentiments Stamp Set in a matching purple ink and added it to the bottom right corner. A couple of Crystal Mix Gems finish off this simple and sweet card.
