Christmas Coffee Cup Holder Gifts

I’m pretty new to this school-age-kids thing…so when I realized that my son’s last day of preschool before Christmas break was this week, naturally I was completely unprepared with the “teacher gifts” that everyone gives these days.  With just 15 hours left until I dropped him off, I pulled together these quick mini coffee cup treats with a gift card to Dunkin Donuts slipped in the back.  These are a truly last-minute gift idea and I was grateful that I had the handful of supplies on hand that I needed to make them!

I grabbed a pretty paper pad that I bought on clearance at Michael’s a few years back and quickly cut two mini coffee cup holders out of some woodgrain/snowflake sheets (the sheets I used are from the heavier weight pads they carry, so closer to 65-80lb cardstock than “paper”).  The holder is very simple to assemble…for more details, see this post.

I covered the mini coffee cups with some contrasting holly berry paper from the same pad cut with the Mini Coffee Cover Dies and adhered securely all the way around with liquid glue.

Dove chocolates filled each cup because they are one of my favorite treats (dark chocolate for me of course)!  You can fit around a dozen or so in each mini coffee cup and still easily place the lids on top.

To add the gift card behind the cup, I followed the assembly instructions from The Stamp Doctor’s website and wrapped a small sliver of paper around the holder before securing it in the back under another panel of paper.  Then I stamped a simple greeting (from an old My Monthly Hero kit) onto some Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock, cut it out with one of the label dies included in the Mini Coffee Cup Holder die set, and adhered it on top of the strip to hold the gift card in place.

All in all, I was able to make two pretty cute teacher gifts in under an hour (not including the drive to Dunkin Donuts) the night before my son’s last day of school before the holidays, so I’m going to call that a win!    Since you can customize these holders for any occasion (check out the Easter baskets I made here), this is definitely the kind of die set that is going to get used time after time in my craft room.
