Welcome back friends! I’m excited to be back today to share a couple of projects made with the new Classic Christmas Collection from Spellbinders. (Check out the entire July release here…just a ton of beautiful holiday stuff!) This collection is full of sweet holiday icons, beautiful sentiment dies, and a fun new layering stencil set in traditional Christmas motifs. I used some of the products from the collection to create three easy and pretty cards perfect for sending holiday cheer.
WARM WISHES TURTLEDOVE CARD
I’m a sucker for anything bird-related, and the new Christmas Bird Poinsettia Die Set was no exception! I cut my feathered friend out of different shades of grey cardstock to look like a turtledove and added a big pretty poinsettia, holly leaves, pine sprigs, and even a candy cane to fill out my bouquet.
To create the background, I trimmed a piece of Glacier Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, embossed it with the Vintage Ornaments 3D Embossing Folder, and added it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. After arranging my flowers and bird in one corner of the card front, I added a sentiment from the Christmas Die & Glimmer Sentiments Set foiled in Gold Hot Foil and cut from Phone Booth Cardstock.
CHRISTMAS FLORALS CARD
Spellbinders has really been creating some beautiful layering stencils lately and the Christmas Florals Die & Stencil Bundle might be my new favorite! I used several different shades of Distress Inks with the five stencil layers in the set followed by a dab of Champagne Stardust Butter for the poinsettia centers. It created a beautiful bouquet that nearly fills an entire card front, and I sliced it right in half for a slightly different look.
After embossing a piece of Crimson Cardstock with the In The Pines Embossing Folder, I popped the two halves up on the top and bottom of the card front with foam adhesive. Then I cut a sentiment out of Mirror Gold Cardstock using the Christmas Florals Die & Stencil Bundle and added it in the center. I love how easy it was to create that gorgeous and colorful image!
BOTTLE BRUSH CHRISTMAS TREE FOREST CARD
Lastly, I love that there are now two more larger sizes of bottle brush trees to add to my collection thanks to the new Bottle Brush Trees Duo Die Set. I cut Dahlia, Rainforest, Waterfall, Pink Sand, and Purple Mist Cardstock with both the Bottle Brush Trees Duo Die Set and the Bottle Brush Trees Die Set (smaller trees released last year) and layered coordinating colors of Glitter Foam on top to create this bright and cheery forest.
To assemble the card, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4.125″ x 5.375″, embossed it with the Flurry of Snowflakes 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. After adding my bottle brush tree forest to the front of the card with foam adhesive, I cut a sentiment out of Mirror Silver Cardstock using the Christmas Florals Die & Stencil Bundle and popped it up in the corner with more foam adhesive.
