Welcome to the weekend friends! I’m excited to be back today to share a couple of projects made with the new Make It Merry Collection from Spellbinders. (Check out the entire July release here…so much beautiful holiday stuff!) This collection contains a huge cardmaking kit, beautiful add-on die sets, and a gorgeous oversized embossing folder that replaces one of my favorite and most-used standard-size folders! I used some of the products from the collection to create four pretty cards perfect for sending a holiday hello.
TIS THE SEASON FLORAL CARD
I was so excited about the new In The Pines Embossing Folder. I have two versions of the Forevergreen Embossing Folder in A2-size already, and I have ALWAYS wanted this design in the larger 8.5″ x 5.5″ format…wish granted! To begin this card, I trimmed a piece of the dark green cardstock from the Make It Merry Cardmaking Kit to 4″ x 5.25″, embossed it with the In The Pines Embossing Folder, matted it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
Next I cut Pink Sand, Phone Booth, Fern, Sage, Latte, and Forest Cardstock using the beautiful new Make It Merry Florals Die Set and shaded the die-cuts with coordinating shades of Distress Ink. A simple frame was cut from Mirror Gold Cardstock using the Essential Hexi-Gems Die Set and I adhered it to the card front with liquid glue, adding the floral sprays on two sides. A pretty sentiment banner was cut from white cardstock using the Make It Merry Sentiments Die Set and Gold Mix Gems were added to finish off the card.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FLORAL CARD
Next I spread out all of the gorgeous die-cuts in the Make It Merry Floral Die-Cuts Pack and picked a bunch of my favorites with these maroon, peach, and gold tones. I placed them around an oval that I cut from white cardstock using the Fluted Classics Ovals Dies and adhered them with foam adhesive.
To assemble the card, I matted some pretty patterned paper from the Make It Merry Kit with Mirror Gold Cardstock and added it to a top-folding A2-sized card base. The oval was popped up in the center of the card and Fashion Rouge Adhesive Pearls were used to embellish. To finish off the card, I foiled a sentiment in Matte Gold Hot Foil using the Joyful Christmas Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set.
JOLLY GIFT TAG CARD
I thought I would try to make a couple of cards using mainly the Make It Merry Cardmaking Kit next. I started by matting some pretty foiled script patterned paper with Mirror Gold Cardstock (2 sheets included in the kit!) and added it to a white card base. Then I arranged some of the cute gift package, tag, and postcard die-cuts on top and adhered them down with a little foam adhesive.
To finish off the card, I added a couple of chipboard sentiments and tiny bow made with some gold metallic ribbon from my stash. Although I generally make cards with tons of texture and several layers, I really enjoy mixing these simpler cards in from time to time!
CHRISTMAS DEER SNOW GLOBE CARD
Lastly, I couldn’t stop without using that sweet deer die-cut on something, so I created a “snow globe” out of white cardstock using the Essential Arches Dies with a base and topper made from some of the chipboard elements in the kit. A couple of gold puffy stars give this simple scene a little sparkle.
To assemble the card, I matted some gorgeous floral patterned paper from the kit with Mirror Gold Cardstock and adhered it all to a white card base. Then I popped this cute snow globe up in the center of the card with foam adhesive.
