Custom Phone Stand with Stenciling and Hand Painting

Hi all!  I’m very excited to share my first project for Clear Scraps with you today…a custom painted phone stand using the Scalloped Wood Phone Stand.  Stencil art was actually the crafty interest that got me started blogging home décor projects years ago, and Clear Scraps has so many gorgeous products to alter and personalize, so I am excited to join their team!

My phone stand will be used the most in my kitchen because I often follow recipes online, so I chose my colors and floral design based on that.  I started by painting each piece with light blue acrylic paint. Once dry, I placed the checker border stencil over the left side of the larger piece and pounced white acrylic paint over top.

The single daisy design was hand painted using acrylic paint and a double-loaded brush method (I’ve been a Donna Dewberry fan for years!).  I wanted to keep the overall design simple, so chose to add only a single flower.  Once the piece had dried entirely, I also sanded the edges a bit to wear some of the paint off for a slightly more rustic look.

My phone fits perfectly and I love that the stand has a notch cut out so that you can easily attach the charger while you’re using it.  When it’s not in use, it’s pretty enough to count as décor!

I hope you enjoyed this project and thanks so much for stopping by today.  What design would you use to decorate your phone stand?  There are hundreds of stencils to choose from in the Clear Scraps store!
