Happy Monday friends! I love to create Thanksgiving cards that are simple and warm. The sketched look of the Fall Pumpkins Stamp Set from Rubbernecker was perfect for some faux no-line watercoloring using Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I added an easy background with one of the newest cover plate dies to keep the focus on the soft images.
- Using Tombow Dual Brush Pens, apply color directly onto the pumpkin stamp from the Fall Pumpkins Stamp Set using the side of the brush nib.
- Press the image onto some watercolor paper and drag some of the color out of the lines with a slightly damp brush. Add just enough water until you have created a watercolored look, but still retain some of the original line art.
- Repeat with the rest of the images from the Fall Pumpkin Stamp set. You can always add additional color to an image by scribbling the marker onto a nonporous surface, lifting ink up with a wet brush, and painting it in areas when needed.
- Cut the images out using the coordinating dies.
- Trim a piece of mustard cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″.
- Die cut kraft cardstock using the Organic #1 Cover Die.
- Adhere the die-cut kraft panel on top of the mustard cardstock using liquid glue, then add it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
- Stamp a sentiment from the Kittie Says Phrases #1 Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Versafine Clair Shady Lane Ink.
- Die-cut the sentiment out using the smallest die from the Inside Scallop Nested Die Set.
- Arrange the watercolored images on top of the card front and adhere them down using liquid glue and foam adhesive for tons of depth.
- Add the sentiment strip to the top left corner with foam adhesive.
